Background
Sifu Chee is certified in the ancient art of Yee Chuan Tao Kung Fu by Sigong (Grandmaster) Michael Vendrell, an 88th generation YCT master, and by Sigong Rob Moses, founder of Tai Shan Mantis, in Northern Shaolin-Tai Mantis Kung Fu. Both Grandmasters are world-renowned and deeply respected internationally. Beginning her first martial arts basic training with a first generation student (Dr. Jan Brown) of Demetrius Havanas (a.k.a. "The Golden Greek"), Sifu Chee later received her black belt (after a six year period) in Tae Kwon Do and a few years following, the 2nd Degree Black under the direction of W.K. Luck, a student of General Choi Hon Hi, certified by Nam Tae Hi. Believing a true martist artist should be well-rounded and be able to adjust quickly to any style, her other martial arts studies also included Judo, Hapkido, Akijuitsu, and Kickboxing. After moving to Kona, Hawaii and studying under Dan Magnus (a four-time World Light and Middleweight Kickboxing Champion in the late '70s and early '80s) and John Kyle, she received the 3rd Degree (San-Dan) Black Belt from John Kyle in American Karate.

Today, Sifu Chee has dedicated her life in teaching and preserving the seldom known ancient art of self-defence called Yee Chuan Tao (not to be confused with Xingyichuan). Yee Chuan Tao is a family generation passed martial art form that predates the Shaolin Temple by 3000 years. This art was lost to China during the Cultural Revolution when many masters were killed, went into hiding or escaped to Taiwan. Kung Fu was not taught in the U.S. in the open even as late as the 1950's and 60's due to government fears and concerns (fears of revitalizing the Boxers Rebellion). People only practiced "Chinese Boxing" and not called Kung Fu. Masters of Kung Fu in America went underground and only taught their art to other Chinese and of trusted Chinese families.

Sifu Chee's students are frequent medal winners at National and International championships.
